GoHighLevel glossary — plain English for US buyers.

30 terms covering GoHighLevel, A2P 10DLC compliance, local SEO, and the surrounding stack US service businesses deal with daily. Each term links to the deeper reference (pillar article, service, or system) that covers it in full.

A

A2P 10DLC
US carrier framework for business texting from standard 10-digit phone numbers. Mandatory for any US-to-US A2P SMS since 1 September 2023.
Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging sent from a 10-digit long code (10DLC) through The Campaign Registry (TCR). Business must register a brand (verified against IRS EIN) and a campaign (use case + sample messages). Pass-through fees are ~$44 upfront + ~$2–$11/month per campaign. US carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon) block unregistered traffic. HighLevel exposes registration inside each sub-account under Settings → Phone Numbers → Trust Center.

AI Employee
HighLevel's AI add-on that answers voice calls, chats, and takes actions on contacts.
HighLevel's AI Employee is billed either at $0.14 per minute for Voice AI or a flat $97/month per sub-account for unlimited use. It includes Voice AI (answers inbound calls, qualifies, books), Conversation AI (handles SMS/webchat), and automation on contact fields. We benchmark break-even at ~695 minutes/month — below that, pay per minute.

See: AI Front Desk system

AI receptionist
A voice AI that answers inbound calls, qualifies the caller, and books on the business calendar.
For US service businesses, the AI receptionist is usually HighLevel's Voice AI configured against a knowledge base specific to the shop (services, service area, pricing rules, hours). It handles after-hours and overflow calls, hands off to a human when a question falls outside its knowledge base, and books appointments into the calendar directly.

Attribution
Tracking which lead source produced which booked job.
Every lead that enters a GoHighLevel pipeline carries source metadata: UTM parameters from paid ads, GCLID/FBCLID for Google/Meta ads, phone-number tracking for channel-specific numbers. The pipeline report then answers "which source produced the most booked jobs this month" without a BI tool. Typically shifts ad spend by 20–40% within 3 months of good attribution being in place.

B

Brand (TCR)
The registered business entity on The Campaign Registry — one per EIN.
When you register for A2P 10DLC, the brand record holds your legal business name (matching IRS CP 575 or 147C letter exactly), EIN, address, website, vertical, and point of contact. TCR assigns a trust score to the brand (0–100). All campaigns run under the brand share the trust score. See the Trust Score term.

C

Campaign (TCR)
A registered use case under a TCR brand, defining what messages the business will send.
A campaign specifies: use case (Low Volume Mixed, Account Notifications, Marketing, etc.), description in plain language, sample messages (2–3 real examples), and the opt-in URL where consent was captured. One brand can have multiple campaigns (e.g., appointment reminders separate from marketing).

CallRail
US call-tracking vendor whose 2025 survey found 78% of consumers abandon a business after an unanswered call.
CallRail's dynamic number insertion (DNI) is the industry standard for tracking which marketing channel produced each inbound call. Not directly built into GoHighLevel; typically integrated via webhook when needed. The 78% abandonment statistic is the primary data cited in missed-call-recovery pitches.
Content-Signal
HTTP response header published 2026 for AI-crawler policy signaling.
A header that tells AI crawlers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google-Extended, Anthropic, etc.) how your content may be used — search, ai-input, ai-train — in a machine-readable way. logixlevel.com publishes `Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=yes` because AI citation is a core goal. Note: lives in the HTTP header only; adding a Content-Signal line to robots.txt dropped Lighthouse SEO to 92.

D

DKIM
Email authentication method that signs outbound mail with a cryptographic signature.
DomainKeys Identified Mail — paired with SPF and DMARC — is required by Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook for bulk senders since 2024. For GoHighLevel email to land in the inbox at volume, you need a dedicated subdomain with SPF/DKIM/DMARC configured and warmed over 2–4 weeks.

G

GBP
Google Business Profile — the Maps/local-pack listing for a business.
For a US service business, GBP is usually the single highest-ROI SEO lever. A well-ranked GBP produces calls from the local pack that convert at 2–4× the rate of organic clicks. 32% of local-pack ranking weight comes from GBP signals (Whitespark 2026). Primary category + review velocity are the two biggest individual factors.

I

IndexNow
Bing-and-Yandex-backed push protocol for notifying search engines of URL updates.
An alternative to waiting for crawlers to re-visit a page. logixlevel.com fires IndexNow after every deploy via `scripts/indexnow.mjs` on the GitHub Actions deploy job. Doesn't work with Google (Google announced it would support IndexNow then quietly deprecated the effort).

L

LC Phone
HighLevel's native "LeadConnector Phone" — Twilio provisioned under the hood for HighLevel accounts.
The default phone/SMS stack inside a GoHighLevel sub-account. A2P 10DLC registration flows through LC Phone (which flows through Twilio and TCR). An alternative is bringing your own direct Twilio account — rare and only for specific advanced use cases. Numbers acquired through LC Phone are owned by HighLevel/Twilio; porting out takes 2–4 weeks.
Low Volume Mixed
A2P 10DLC campaign use case for small US businesses sending mixed traffic.
The most common use case for US small-service businesses. Cheaper monthly fee (~$2) vs. Standard use cases (~$10–$11). Allows a mix of appointment reminders, lead response, review requests, and marketing in one campaign. The trade-off: lower per-second throughput than dedicated Marketing campaigns.

M

Missed-call text-back
Automated SMS fired within 60 seconds of a missed inbound call.
The foundational automation of most US service-business GoHighLevel builds. When an inbound call isn't answered, the system sends an SMS from the business number saying "Sorry we missed you, how can we help?" and keeps the conversation alive by text. 78% of consumers abandon a business after an unanswered call (CallRail 2025), so recovering even a fraction with text-back is net new revenue.

See: Never-Missed-Call System · Missed-Call Revenue Calculator

N

NAP
Name, Address, Phone — the three fields that must stay consistent across all directories for local SEO.
Google reads citations across 50+ US business directories (Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, YellowPages, BBB, Angi, industry-specific) and treats inconsistency as a signal that the business might not be real. NAP consistency is ~7% of local-pack ranking weight (Whitespark 2026). The common failure mode is NAP drift from an old agency's citation campaign.

See: Local Citations service · Complete GBP ranking guide

noindex
HTML/HTTP directive that tells search engines not to index a page.
Set via `<meta name="robots" content="noindex">` or `X-Robots-Tag: noindex` header. logixlevel.com applies noindex to the entire site when `PRODUCTION=1` is not set, as a safety fence during preview builds — this is why the live site shows "index, follow" and the preview on workers.dev does not.

O

Opportunity
GoHighLevel's term for a deal in a pipeline — a lead progressing through sales stages.
Opportunities move through pipeline stages (New Lead → Contacted → Qualified → Quoted → Won/Lost). Every opportunity carries source metadata, contact details, and custom fields. The pipeline report rolls up opportunities to show source-to-booked conversion rates. Opportunities are distinct from contacts (one contact can have multiple opportunities over time).

P

Pipeline
The visual stage-based board for tracking opportunities through a sales process.
A GoHighLevel sub-account typically has 1–3 pipelines (new leads, booked jobs, long-term nurture). Each stage represents a step in your actual sales workflow. Workflows can be triggered by stage change (e.g., when a lead moves to Quoted, fire a follow-up SMS sequence).

See: Pipeline & Workflow Audit

R

Rescue Audit
A LogixLevel diagnostic for an existing GoHighLevel sub-account.
A $497 fixed-price review of an existing GHL account against our 30-point checklist — compliance, deliverability, workflows, pipelines, calendars, ownership. Output: a prioritized fix list and a quote for the work. 60% of audits come back with a fix list the owner can execute themselves.

See: Rescue Audit

Review Velocity
The rolling 30-day count of new Google reviews on a business profile.
Jumped from factor #93 in 2023 to #11 in 2026 on the Whitespark local SEO ranking factors. Google reads not just how many reviews a business has but when they arrive. A business with 100 reviews from 2 years ago ranks worse than one with 20 reviews and 4 in the last 30 days. Sustainable cadence target: 15–25% of completed jobs produce a review.

See: Review Velocity System

S

Service area
The geographic radius a service-area business (SAB) covers.
For GBP, service area must be realistic (under ~2-hour drive radius) and specific (cities or zip codes, not whole states). Oversized service areas trigger a soft downgrade. Service-area businesses without a physical storefront should hide the address publicly and set the service area explicitly.

See: Complete GBP ranking guide

Snapshot
A GoHighLevel template bundle of workflows, pipelines, calendars and custom fields.
A snapshot captures a configured sub-account as a reusable template. Agencies sell snapshots for $97–$2,500 — typically a 60% solve of what a specific vertical needs, with the remaining 40% being per-business adaptation. The "GoHighLevel doesn't work" complaints often come from a snapshot that was imported but never adapted.
Speed to lead
Time from lead creation to first outbound contact.
Research-backed: contact odds are ~100× higher at 5 minutes vs. 30 minutes (Lead Response Management study). Qualification odds are ~21× higher at 5 minutes. Average US business response is 42 hours (HBR 2011); 23% never respond. Target: median time-to-first-outbound under 60 seconds via automation.

See: Complete speed-to-lead playbook · 5-Minute Lead Response Engine · Speed-to-Lead Scorecard

Sub-account
A client workspace inside an agency-level GoHighLevel account.
Each client business lives in its own sub-account with isolated contacts, pipelines, workflows, phone numbers, and A2P registration. Multi-location businesses typically run one sub-account per location. An agency on the Unlimited ($297) or Agency Pro ($497) plan can run unlimited sub-accounts.

T

TCR
The Campaign Registry — the central registry for US A2P 10DLC compliance.
The Campaign Registry (campaignregistry.com) is where all US business texting brands and campaigns are vetted and stored. T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon all read from TCR for filtering decisions. Twilio (and HighLevel's LC Phone, which runs on Twilio) files registrations with TCR on behalf of accounts.
Trust Center
The GoHighLevel UI section where A2P 10DLC registration lives, inside each sub-account.
Settings → Phone Numbers → Trust Center. Shows brand status, campaign status, trust score, and reasons for any rejections. Since 2026, HighLevel added a "view required fixes" modal that surfaces TCR's rejection reason codes — saves one round-trip per rejection but still won't write the consent language or sample messages for you.
Trust score
TCR's 0–100 numeric score for an A2P 10DLC brand, used by T-Mobile for throughput caps.
Daily cap on T-Mobile: 200,000 messages at 75–100, 40,000 at 50–74, 10,000 at 25–49, 2,000 at 1–24. Score is driven by the accuracy of the legal name, EIN, address and website on the brand record. Most low scores trace to a legal name mismatch, SSN instead of EIN, or a website that doesn't represent the entity.

See: T-Mobile trust score blog

Turnstile
Cloudflare's free, non-intrusive CAPTCHA alternative — used on the LogixLevel contact form.
Replaces reCAPTCHA. No image puzzles. Users rarely see anything. logixlevel.com runs Turnstile on the `/api/lead` Worker endpoint; a form submission without a valid Turnstile token is rejected before any GHL API call is made. Free on Cloudflare's free tier.

U

UTM parameters
URL query string parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) that track where a visitor came from.
Captured on form submit in GoHighLevel and stored on the contact. The pipeline report then shows source attribution: which paid campaigns, organic channels, and referrer URLs produced the booked work. Standard practice: tag every paid ad and email link with UTMs; organic traffic shows up as "google / organic".

V

Voicemail drop
A pre-recorded voicemail delivered directly to a contact's voicemail inbox without ringing their phone.
Supported by GoHighLevel LC Phone. Secondary channel on day 2 or day 4 of a speed-to-lead sequence. Voicemails get listened to minutes-to-hours after the drop, versus SMS which gets read in minutes — so use voicemail as a reinforcement channel, not the primary first touch.
