A2P 10DLC: why your GoHighLevel texts aren't sending — and the exact fix
GoHighLevel texts that show as sent but never arrive are almost always an A2P 10DLC problem: since September 2023, US carriers block application-to-person texting from numbers that aren't registered under a verified brand and an approved campaign. Registrations are rejected most often for a legal business name that doesn't match the IRS record, missing consent language on forms, or no privacy-policy sentence covering SMS — all fixable before you file.

What A2P 10DLC is
“A2P” is application-to-person messaging; “10DLC” is a ten-digit long code — a normal local number. Since September 1, 2023, Twilio (which powers HighLevel’s LC Phone) blocks unregistered US A2P traffic outright, returning error 30034. Registration has two parts: a brand (your legal business, verified against its EIN) and a campaign (what you’ll text and how people opted in).
Why registrations get rejected
From the rejections we’ve cleared for clients, in order of frequency:
- Legal name mismatch. The name on the registration must match the IRS CP 575 or 147C letter exactly — including “LLC” and punctuation.
- No consent language. Every form that collects a phone number needs an explicit, unchecked-by-default SMS consent checkbox and wording that says what you’ll send and how to opt out.
- No privacy-policy sentence. Carriers look for a statement that mobile information is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Vague campaign description. “Marketing” is not a use case. “Appointment reminders and follow-up for booked estimates, with STOP to opt out” is.
- Sample messages that don’t match the description.
- Website that doesn’t show the business — no address, no privacy policy, or a domain that doesn’t match the brand.
HighLevel added a “view required fixes” modal to campaign rejections in 2026, which helps, but it still won’t write the consent language for you.
The approval checklist
- EIN and legal name from the IRS letter, copied exactly
- Business address and website that show the same name
- Privacy policy with the SMS sentence, linked in the footer
- Opt-in forms with consent checkbox and disclosure text
- Campaign description in plain language + 2–3 real sample messages
- Opt-in and opt-out keywords (START/STOP/HELP) configured
What it costs and how long it takes
Carrier fees are billed by HighLevel — about $24.50 for the brand (including fast-track), roughly $15.75 for campaign vetting, and up to $11.03 per campaign per month. Approval typically clears in 3–10 days; sole proprietors follow a separate, slower path.
Why it’s included in every LogixLevel system
Because a text-back system on an unregistered number is a system that does nothing. Registration is part of the Never-Missed-Call System and available on its own as Texting Unlocked.
